Signal at Dusk is finally out

We recorded most of this record in a rented room by the harbour, with the windows open and the tide coming in under the songs.

The room was never quite quiet. Ferries pushed their horns through the walls, someone was always dragging a crate across the concrete outside, and the old ceiling fan clicked in time with the slower songs. We stopped trying to fight the noise and started treating it like another instrument.

Signal at Dusk is a record about staying connected when the signal is weak. These songs came together in the hours after work, on long drives home, and in the small gaps between one plan falling apart and the next one appearing.

Ruby brought in the first sketches on a battered acoustic guitar. Lachlan found the bright, broken textures that became the record's electric spine, while Mia and Jack spent weeks figuring out how much space a song could hold before it started to disappear.

We mixed the final version just before sunrise. You can still hear the harbour in the edges of it — the room, the traffic, the occasional mistake we decided was better than a cleaner take.

It's available today on orange vinyl, CD and every streaming service. Thank you for waiting with us, and for giving these songs somewhere to land.
